After several months, the self titled Make Mine Country Band CD was delivered in mid December 2008. The CD features Shelby on rhythm guitar and vocals; Jim Wilson on pedal steel, lead guitar, and vocals; Joseph Paul Hauserman on keyboards, drums and vocals; Richard Rupert on bass; Tim McCarty on lead guitar and vocals. Yogi Glass and Willie Hess also provide vocals on a few tracks. Shelby Nestler - One More Step is still available. Many friends perform on these CDs, most notably, Gary Swartz, Andy Barnhart, and Dustin Wilson. Also Alison Rupert from Green Valley Recording, whose husband Richard played a big part in the production of the CDs. Mark Alan Cash, nephew of the late Johnny Cash, also sings a duet on the "One More Step" CD. Check out the link to the left for photos from the "One More Step" album release party in 2006. If you would like a copy of either of these CDs, please drop me an email and I'll get it out to you.

Shelby's love of country music began in early childhood as she listened to her dad, uncles and cousins play the music of Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, Lefty Frizzell and George Jones on the front porch and in the living room of her home. At the age of seven, with a guitar bought at public auction, she had her first shot at performing to a live audience at the Gratz Fair. Through her teen years and into her twenties, she performed with her dad's band, “The Moonlighters” playing square dances and local carnivals and fairs. During that time, she had the opportunity to perform with local greats Al Shade and his band and also with Shorty Long and his band at Ontalaunee Park near New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. For the next decade, lullabies and children’s songs with a country flair! was the music she performed for her two children while still performing with her dad's band.

Shelby lost her dad to cancer in 2002. That loss motivated her to record a CD to preserve the music that she loves. While completing that first CD, Shelby met Country Legend's Gary Swartz who performed harmony vocals on two of the tracks. That collaboration opened doors for her that she had only dreamed of. Shelby has performed with David Frizzell and most recently with Tommy Cash and the Cash Crew at venues throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states. She continues to perform with Tommy Cash as well as with her band, Make Mine Country. Check out the schedule and stop and say hello if you see me at a show near you!
